Schools & Outreach
If your School has adopted The Vikings as this year's Topic, then why not adopt a Viking for the day and #BringHistoryAlive for your Pupils?

Gear & Graith School Workshops cover many different aspects of Daily Life during the Viking Age, with interactive activities designed to enable your pupils to Explore and Discover the past and the opportunity to handle Museum Quality Reproductions!

I promote a safe environment where there is no such thing as a 'stupid question' and actively encourage children to develop their own interpretative skills and to try to think about the Past in new exciting ways!

Visits can be tailored to you school's geography, the aspects of the topic your pupils are particularly interested in, or even which stage in the topic you're at (e.g. a broad introduction if you're just starting out, or a more detailed and targeted program towards the end of term).
I am a proud member of the Viking School Visits Team, a nation-wide collective of Historical Interpreters, Fully Insured and PVG Scheme Registered for regulated work with Children and Vulnerable Adults.

I'm also involved with the Cluaran Historical Interpretation Project with Wordsmith Crafts and am working on a number of exciting new projects with my friends at Blue Axe Reproductions and Stoneheap Wood - watch this space!
When I'm not Visiting Schools or busy making things in my workshop, I'm researching, attending academic conferences & lectures and going off on field trips!

Gear & Graith's ethos is to bring history to life and make the most up-to-date ideas accessible and engaging for children of all ages.
